Next Row: ch 1, sc in every stitch around, sl st to beg ch 1
Next Row: change to contrasting colour, ch 1, and work one more row of sc around, sl st to beg ch1, fasten off and weave in ends invisibly.
Sew on a pretty button – the one I used is 25mm diameter and fits the flower very well.
To make a simple flower:
With contrasting colour, ch 9, join to beg ch to make a ring.
(Ch 1, hdc, dc, hdc, ch1) all into the same stitch, sl st to same st,
*Skip 1 chain, (ch 1, hdc, dc, hdc, ch1) into next st, sl st to same st, and then sl st into the next st.*
Repeat 3 more times to make a total of 5 petals.
Slip stitch to beg ch1, fasten off and weave in ends.
Slip the flower over the button, and your hat is complete.
